Phone Scam
What: "Got word of an identity theft scam active elsewhere in the nation which seems ready-made for the FHA's civic-minded kind of constituency. The phone caller identifies herself as a jury pool coordinator following up on unanswered jury pool summons. When the targeted victim claims to have not received the summons, the phone caller asks for social security number and birth date to verify. With that information given, the identify theft has occurred."
Burglar Hits Eastlake Businesses
When: During the night of Friday, August 1st and Saturday, August 2nd.
Where: The Eastlake business area.
What: "Professional burglar hitting Eastlake businesses. Late night Aug 1st break-in at Hiroshis and Eastlake Yoga. Late night Aug 2nd break-in at Louisa's Bakery and Lake Union Mail. More local crime from this criminal expected."
Reported To: SPD. "Cops fingerprinted, none lifted."
